MAIN SUPPORT MEETINGS VENUES
We would like to thank the Sportsman's Club for the use of their premises for our monthly support meetings. The room we have is suitable and parking is easy

 

SANDS BEREAVEMENT CARE TRAINING DAY AT RGU
Thank you to Rachel Taylor for telling her story of her precious son Archie at the training day to first year students. Thank you to Sandra Stephen for raising awareness of our group.

 

RUBILSAW WARD
We have purchased furniture for the new Multipurpose Room in the Rubislaw Ward. and we have also purchased photo albums and 4 Welch Spot Monitors

 

MATERNITY LIASON COMMITTE
The committee continues to meet with Fiona Donald and Susan Forsyth in attendance, ensuring that SANDS is involved in shaping the Maternity Services in the Grampian area for the future. If the any parent has any feedback they would like taken to the committee, good and not so good, please email help@aberdeensands.com.

 

SCOTTISH NETWORK DAY
The Scottish Network Day was attended by Fiona Donald and Sandra Stpehen from our group and two professionals from the Rubislaw Ward at AMH. It was good to speak to other parents from other groups from Scotland.

 

BABY BEREAVEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY DAY
Thank you to Rachel Taylor and Lyndsey Spears for talking about their precious babies and our group to those attending the professionals photography training.

 

BEETLE DRIVE
Our annual Beetle Drive was well attended and raised 1224.61 this year. Thanks to all who attended, sold Nirvana Spa Squares and Squares sheets and helped in some way. The monies will go towards Bereavement Training for Porfessionals in our local area and for a midwife who attended the Babyloss Conference in London back in September.

 

BEREAVEMENT CARE STUDY DAY

'Hope for the Future" Child Bereavement Conference abig thank you to Sandra Stephen and Claire Reith who run two work shops at this joint event between Grampian Child Bereavement Network and Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland.

 

MEMORIAL SERVICE
A big thank you to Susan Masser and Hayley Johnstone for kindly organzing the Memorial Service in the Hazelhead Park Cafe. Thank you to Mark Rodgers, hospital chaplain for taking the service and thank you to Donna Warchol

LIBBY JADE SMITH BORN 18TH JULY to Karla Christie and Martin Smith weighing 5LBS 7.5OZ little sister to Caitlin and the late Millie.

ETHAN LEWIS MASSER BORN 29th September TO STEVE AND SUSAN MASSER WEIGHING 7lb 3 oz Little brother to Lily and the late Harrison

JESSICA DARCIE FOWLIE born 18th OCTOBER TO Aimee and Jamie Fowlie weighing 8lb 4oz,little sister to the late Darcie.

 

DONATIONS

100 from a Christopher & Kate Bain, which they collected at their wedding reception in memory of their baby..

348.00 was raised at the RGI International Day of the Midwife, where they sold raffles..

2890.00 raised by Claire and Barry Hunter who used JustGiving page to collect donations in memory of their precious son Cameron.

287.03 raised by 8 year old Rosa Maitland from her bake sale. 187.03 cash and 100 was added by Aberdeen Asset management. Well done Rosa.

46.50 taken as donations at the Hazelhead Memorial Service .

3000.00 was raised by Debbie Fraser at her special birthday afternoon tea where she raised 1000.00 and her husband Adam's employers gifted 2000.00 adding to the total, in memory of their precious son Peter.


330 raised by Alex Gaskin a midwife in the Rubislaw ward, who organised a ceilidh. She also donated 300 to the Rubislaw ward

20.00 donation from Rose Norvin.


1801.00 from Fiona Brown who took part in the Kiltwalk and wishes the monies to pay for a cuddle cot for the Rubislaw Ward. In memory of her precious baby Abbie.

FUNDRAISING
All the best to those who are undertaking fundraising over the next few months.

A big thank you to Sandra Stephen for organising a GIRLS NIGHT OUT fund raising event in memory of her precious baby BETH. Thank you to all who attended and bought raffles etc she raised 4530.00

Thank you to Lyndsey Spiers who sold glitter tattoos at Hilton Gala Day and raised 95.00

 

Thank you to all who donated to our Just Giving page we have raised 806.76

 

SPREE BOOKS

MEMORY POCKETS
Marjory is still doing a great job keeping Rubislaw Ward stocked up with Memory Pockets.
Thank you to Susan Masser for looking after and delivering all the pockets and leaflets over the last few years and her input into the committee of our group.
