NEW TREASURER

We would like to welcome our new treasurer Heather Robb to our committee who is to look after our group accounts.

 

SANDS ANNUAL CHRISTMAS SERVICE

A big thank you to Mark Rodgers for the lovely but emotional services, held back in December. Thank you to those who gave a donation for the SANDS cards and merchandise, we received 275.51.

RUBISLAW WARD

The news sofas for the baby room have arrived and we just have some art work to add to complete the refurbishment.

 

CHILD BEREAVEMENT NETWORK IN GRAMPIAN

Fiona Donald and Sandra Stephen have joined the Child Bereavement Network in Aberdeen and attend meetings attended by other charities and groups to help raise awareness of the support available to children in the Grampian area.

 

MAIN SUPPORT MEETING VENUE

We would like to thank the Sportsman's Club for the use of their premises for our monthly support meetings. The room we have is suitable and parking is easy. When we say meeting it is more of a chat over a cup of tea or coffee.

 

BAIRD FAMILY HOSPITAL

Fiona Donald and Susan Forsyth have joined the 'Communications group of the Baird Baird Family Hospital who will meet every few months..

 

 

MATERNITY LIAISON COMMITTEE

The committee continues to meet with Fiona Donald and Susan Forsyth in attendance, ensuring that SANDS is involved in shaping the Maternity Services in the Grampian area for the future. If any parent has any feedback they would like taken to the committee, good and not so good please email help@aberdeensands.com.

 

AWARENESS AND EVENTS

YPI WITH PETERHEAD ACADEMY.

Thank you to Jade and her school mates for selecting Aberdeen SANDS for their chosen charity for their YPI project. They did a presentation and got through to the final 6. Unlucky Girls for not winning but thank you for raising awareness of our group.

 

SCOTTISH NETWORK DAY

Four Aberdeen parents went to the Network Day In Dundee which had interesting speakers and workshops and it was good to talk to bereaved parents from other areas of Scotland. The Scottish Network Day next year is to be held in Glasgow.

 

 

BEETLE DRIVE

DATE FOR THE DIARY 3rd JUNE 2016.

Our annual Beetle Drive is to be held this year at Airyhall Community Centre, Countesswells Road, ABERDEEN. This is a fun evening and if all SANDS parents could please bring some home bakes for the refreshments and a raffle prize Put the date in your diary and have fun whilst raising funds for a good cause.

 

ANNIVERSARY CARDS

Should you wish a card on the anniversary of your baby's death ,please send your name, address, along with your baby's name and date of passing to help@aberdeensands.com.
