CHRISTMAS MEMORIAL SERVICE
We would like to thank Mark Rodgers the hosptial chaplain and his team for the lovely but emotional Christmas service, which was helld in the Palm Court Hotel as a temporary measure. Thank you to the Palm Court for the use of the facitilies. Thank you to all who donated towards our cards and merchandise,we raised £205.10.
MAIN SUPPORT MEETING VENUE
We are now holding our main support meetings in the Jury's Inn on Guild Street on a monthly basis until April, when we will return to Mastrick Community Centre. We have a room tucked away in a quiet area of the hotel. A parent will wait at the entrance to direct parents to the room.
RGU TALK ' A PARENT'S PERSPECTIVE'
Thank you to Sonia Gow who performed her talk to 25nd year Midwivery students at RGU. It was well attended by the students and many interesting questions were asked.
SCOTTISH NETWORK DAY
The next Scottish Network Day is Saturday 9th May 2015 at Westpark Centre in Dundee. If anyone is interested in coming along to the day, there are a few of our group hoping to go on the train, there will be interesting speakers and it is good to meet parents from other groups in Scotland. £5352.97 Marie Manson and Allison Hutcheon completed a 17 mile sponsored walk in Whalsay, Shetland. Marie Manson hopes to set up a SANDS group in Shetland. For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Susan Forsyth, Susan Masser and Sandra Stephen went to the Northern Hotel and collected a cheque for a total £1300.00 from Donna Sinclair and friends. The money was from a Scottish Soul Charity Collective and was raised at a soul night held back in April 2014.
£665.00 from Chloe MacIntyre who kindly organised a River Dee walk for the Rubislaw garden at AMH to have a makeover.
£46.12, which was collected at a Rothes FC(a Highland League team) at a football match by Nikki Batty and her partner Ricky Horne who platys for them, all in memory of their precious baby Natalie.
Ross Pert partook in Sober for October and raised £431.50 from family, friends and staff at the Foundry Bar in memory of his precious baby Christopher.
£405.00 raised by Amanda Tweedie in the Etape Caledonia and GMT King of the Mountain Sportive challenge.
£20.00 from Donna and Colin Murray in memory of Beth Stephen, precious daughter of Sandra and Davy Stephen.
£120.00 from Amanda Duguid and David Reid, the money was raised at the funeral of their precious daughter Katie Reid, twin sister of Sophie, born at the end of December.
£20.00 from Louise Strachan who didn't send Christmas Cards and instead donated the money to SANDS and plans to do this every year.
£150.00 donation from the staff at Aberdeen and North East Scotland Blood Transfusion Service. The money was raised via 'Pay Day Cake Day' sale where staff baked cakes and items were sold to staff during lunchtime for £1.00 a cake.
