CELEBRATE MARCH JUNE 8TH
A small number of us took part in the Union Street march in Aberdeen, which helped to raise awareness of our group.Thank you to all who marched.
ANNUAL BEETLE DRIVE
We held our annual Beetle Drive in June raising £944 for the refurbishment of the baby room in Rubislaw Ward. A big thank you to those who attended sold or bought Nirvana Spa Squares.
The Scottish Government has established a group to examine what lessons can be
learned from recent events and to make recommendaons about how guidance and
legislaon can be updated to ensure clarity and consistency across the country. Ministers
will ask the Commission to submit their report and recommendaons by the end of
We cannot change what happened in the past, but I am sure we all welcome news of
this Commission and look forward to their recommendaons. Hopefully it will ensure no
other bereaved family is ever unaware of what happened to their precious baby after cremation.
We had a nice day for the memorial service this year, which was aended by 30 people.
We released three balloons in memory of our babies. A big thank you to Mark Rodgers for
taking the service and also to Eaon MacKenzie for the reading the of poem.
HAZELHEAD BABY CEMETERY MEMORIAL GARDEN
After many years of negotation the perimeter wall of Hazlehead Baby Garden has finally been completed. We are awaiting the council to receive quotes on paving for the central
area of the perimeter wall.
There are no dates for befriender training at the moment, but if you think you would like

Roy Shearer took part in the ETAP cycle race raising money in memory of the loss of their precious twins Abbie & Max by Justgiving. He raised over £2000 and his employer Dana
Petroleum donated £500 to us a big thank you.
A big thank you to Tutu and Maurice Thomson who have donated by standing order to our account, which is very generous in memory of her precious babies Ebun and Ore.
Mitchell Dossett, aged 10 raised £10 in his bob a job week at Scouts, and has donated it to SANDS. Thank you to Mitchell and his brother Cassie who marched down Union Street in the Celebration Parade.
Well done to Julie MacDonald who ran the Edinburgh Half Marathon this May to raise money for SANDS in memory of her daughter Alice raising over £2500.

Lucas Campbell Duncan born on the 30th May weighing 7lb 4oz precious baby to the Fiona and Barry Duncan and little brother to the late Isabella Daisy.
Rebekah Mary Eileen Sinclair born on the 25th June weighing 4lb 3oz to Helen and Ross Sinclair and precious little sister to the late George James
Frankie Taylor was born on the 11th July weighing 8lb 8oz to Natalie and Scott Taylor and llittle brother of Jordan and the late Eve.
